The People of the Village’s Lack of Generosity
The repetition of the explicit noun “its people” (ahlahā) instead of using a pronoun indicates that the people of that village were severely lacking in generosity, because instead of “they asked its people for food” (istaṭʿamā ahlahā), it could have said “they asked them” (istaṭʿamāhum) or “they asked from them” (istaṭʿamā minhum), but it used the explicit noun to convey and emphasize their meanness. According to tradition(324), they were so lacking in generosity that they did not even take care of their own orphans.
