The Superiority of the Prostration Remembrance
The superiority of the prostration remembrance “Glory be to my Lord, the Most High, and praise be to Him” over the bowing remembrance “Glory be to my Lord, the Magnificent, and praise be to Him” - although changing the remembrance is permissible - is another indication that prostration is the noblest part of prayer, to the extent that God has named prayer itself as prostration: “So be patient over what they say, and celebrate the praise of your Lord before the rising of the sun and before the sunset, and glorify Him through part of the night and after the prostrations”.(181) “After the prostrations” means after the prayers, and here prayer has been named as prostration.
