The Polytheism and Oppression of the Jews
The sentence “And the wrongdoers will have no helpers” - whether it is a continuation of the words of Christ or the words of God - indicates that polytheism is oppression (ẓulm), as has come with greater clarity in the counsels of Luqmān: “Indeed, polytheism is a great oppression.”(17)
Bringing “and they will have no helpers” would have been sufficient; however, the explicit noun came instead of the pronoun, and although the discussion is about polytheism, “for the wrongdoers” (lil-ẓālimīn) was used instead of “for the polytheists” (lil-mushrikīn) to convey the point that polytheism is a great oppression and the polytheist, being an oppressor, has no helper.
Note: Since the word “wrongdoers” (ẓālimīn) is plural, to maintain the correspondence, the word “helpers” (anṣār) was mentioned in plural form, although if it had been mentioned in singular form - that is, helper (nāṣir) - and the generic meaning was intended, there would have been no problem.
