Harmony of the Verses
With the argument that Jesus (a.s.) established in the previous verse, it became clear that he is not responsible for the blasphemous words and beliefs of his community, and consequently is also exempt from the divine judgment concerning them. For this reason, that personage in this verse, without any connection or derivation, began speaking anew.
Based on the above explanation, this verse is worthy of replacing the previous statement, and its content is that if my community ultimately became disgraced by polytheism (shirk), I bore no fault, because I had no interference in their affairs such that Your judgment would also include me. (353)
