Harmony of the Verses

After the previous verse’s reference to the denial of the miracles of Jesus and the intention to conspire by some of the Jews, this verse reminds us that God called the Disciples (ḥawāriyyīn) to faith in God and His messenger and to renew their covenant, and they too declared their submission in response to this call.
