The Reality of Mary’s (a.s.) Question

According to some, Mary (a.s.) asked whether she would become a mother through natural means, meaning through marriage, or without a spouse.(342) However, this interpretation is incomplete because the apparent meaning of this question and its answer is that God, through the angels, gave Mary the good news that she would become a mother with her current circumstances. Mary’s (a.s.) astonishment when she said “How shall I have a child seeing that no human has ever touched me” supports this meaning.
