The Universal Mission of Christ (a.s.)

The eighth attribute of Christ (a.s.) is his messengership: “and [he will be] a messenger to the Children of Israel.” Thus God announces both the beginning of his messengership and warns the Children of Israel that a messenger will come, although Christ’s (a.s.) message was not only for the Children of Israel. This is because firstly, the restriction to the Children of Israel has no conceptual basis, and secondly, limiting Christ’s (a.s.) message to a specific scope… “Indeed We have been sent to you. They said, ‘You are nothing but humans like us, and the All-beneficent has not sent down anything. You are only lying.’ They said, ’Our Lord knows that we have indeed been sent to you, and our duty is only to communicate in clear terms’”(385)

This verse (according to some accounts) is about representatives who were sent by Christ (a.s.) to call other peoples besides the Children of Israel.(386)

Indeed, the logic of the Qur’an, the content of the Gospel, the conduct of Jesus Christ (a.s.), and the practice of the faithful people of that era all indicate that Christ’s (a.s.) message was not exclusive to the Children of Israel, although the initial implementation of his message began with them.
