Harmony of the Verses

The content of the previous verses was that God gave Mary (a.s.) glad tidings of Jesus (a.s.), and now it explains the position of Jesus’s people regarding him and Jesus’s (a.s.) reciprocal response. It is as if God said this was the glad tidings We gave to Mary (a.s.) about Jesus (a.s.), but the response of the Jews to it was their disbelief.(462)
