God Being Pure Truth
God is pure truth: “That is because God is the Truth, and whatever they invoke besides Him is nullity”(643) and every truth (reports of the ancients, sciences, knowledge, etc.) comes only from pure truth, and whatever is not from God, who is absolute truth, is nothing but error: “That, then, is God, your true Lord. So what is there after the truth except error? Then where are you being led away?”(644) Therefore, in the phrase “The truth from your Lord”, one can no longer say that “The truth” is the predicate for an omitted subject (he), because “The truth from your Lord” is expressing this general principle: all truth emanates from God’s sacred essence. Although it does not say “from your true Lord” to indicate exclusivity, the tone and context of the verse indicate exclusivity.
The phrase “so do not be among the skeptics” is also based on this general principle; meaning do not harbor any doubt or skepticism, because all truth is from God and no truth originates from other than Him, and He is the one who says: “These are the signs and the wise reminder that We recite to you”(645)
This matter can be expressed in the form of logical syllogism as follows: God explained the story of Jesus (a.s.): “These are the signs and the wise reminder that We recite to you” (first premise); whatever God explains is truth: “But God speaks the truth and He guides to the way”(646) (second premise), therefore the story of Jesus (a.s.) is truth (conclusion). Similarly, another logical syllogism can be formed (for those who have previously acknowledged the truth of Jesus’s (a.s.) story): The story of Jesus (a.s.) is truth (first premise), and whatever is truth is from God: “The truth from your Lord” (second premise), therefore the story of Jesus (a.s.) is from God and one should not harbor any doubt or skepticism: “so do not be among the skeptics” (conclusion).
Based on this verse, whatever is truth is from God, and verses like “and who is truer in speech than God?”(647) also indicate that whatever God says is truth. With these two exclusivities, there is no room for any doubt.
