The Relationship Between the Verses

In the previous verses, it spoke of the scandals and ugly deeds of the Jews and their intention to kill Jesus and their failure to achieve this evil goal, and in this verse it emphatically states that all Jews who are the staunch enemies of that personage will believe in him before their death.(58) Therefore, the context of this verse is an emphasis and clarification of the previous verses about the Messiah not being killed and not dying, because it is conjoined to the sentence “And they did not kill him” (wa-mā qatalūhu).(59)
