The Blessing of the Kaʿba
In the Noble Qur’an, many apparent blessings are mentioned, and although some of them are essential, God, the Glorified, has not emphasized their significance in the same manner as He has with certain other blessings.
When describing important blessings, God commands, “Remember this blessing of Mine...”(144) or “Remember God’s blessing upon you...”(145) and so on.
The Kaʿba, in its role as the qibla (direction of prayer) for Muslims, as well as being the place of ṭawāf (circumambulation), is among God’s most significant blessings. Its numerous other attributes further elevate its importance. For this reason, God, the Glorified, specifically wants the Kaʿba to be remembered and kept in mind, as indicated by the verse “idh jaʿalnā l-bayt mathābatan li-n-nās...” (When We made the House a place of return for the people...). The use of “idh” in this context relates to an implied “udhkurū” (remember).
