The Most Delightful Blessing

An excellent point raised in prioritizing security over the call to Ḥajj and ʿUmra, as well as over the attraction of fruits from near and far regions, is that security is the most delightful blessing for individuals and society. Under its protection, other lost blessings become accessible, just as its absence causes all existing blessings to vanish. Since the term “security” (amn) appears in the verse in an unrestricted form, and there is no definitive evidence for its limitation, one of its most prominent facets can indeed be intellectual and cultural security. Discourse, exchange of ideas, and the tolerance of fair and scientifically-grounded thoughts from differing viewpoints play a crucial role in revealing the truth and dispelling falsehood.

Thus, cultural security and healthy cultural debates are encompassed within this broader concept of security. The architect of the Kaʿba, Abraham (a.s.), was a pioneer in scientific discussions, a model of the finest disputation, and ultimately a leader and exemplar in all great moral virtues. Similarly, the other infallible Imams from the progeny of Ṭāhā and the family of Yāsīn (a.s.) viewed the vicinity of the Kaʿba as a school of wisdom and an institution for the finest intellectual exchange.
