Selected Exegesis
The life of Abraham is a life of growth, and his religion, which is the religion of all prophets, is the criterion and measure of reason and growth. Therefore, turning away from it is a sign of foolishness, and on this basis, whoever does not accept the religion of Islam has made himself foolish, not others.
The secret of Abraham’s life being the criterion of growth is that he is the chosen one (ṣafwa) and righteous (ṣāliḥ) of God, and the mystery of his being chosen and righteous is his acceptance of a religion that is the chosen one of religions and the chosen one of God.
Abraham, the chosen one (ṣafī), is ultimately joined with the purely righteous and the perfect people of righteousness whose essential nature is righteous and from whom nothing but righteousness appears.
